044 – ∞ 8 Year Anniversary Show 2 Comments

Thursday, January 18, 2018: Going Back to My Roots / ∞ 8 Year Anniversary Show

I spent the majority of last year in transit or enduring change and loss. The world seemed dismally shrouded and felt my head barely above water at times, but now there's a sense of new energy and strength.

For the 8th (∞) anniversary of the show, I compiled a 2-hour mix inspired by the nuances of the past 12 months. These songs were my companions through the thick of it — some tracks uplifted me, others I cried to; several I DJ'd or my friends DJ'd at gigs; and a few are from my childhood that I came back to.

As overwhelming as 2017 might've felt, there were moments that out-shined the heaviness, and reminded me of some important things...Sometimes situations have to be difficult or seemingly 'bad' in order to appreciate the good again, so I take solace in that.

Best of 2017:
1.) Dancing at The Loft in NYC, being completely turned inside out and connecting to the heartbeat of the universe. Thank you Jack, Jackson, and friends.

2.) Incidents that shook, broke, and humbled me, but more importantly, prompted dialogue with communities near and far.

3.) Each-and-every-one of the events we are fortunate enough to facilitate at Las Cruxes and collaborating with my team, friends and fellow businesses.
Notably: Melvin (Traxx) flying to Texas and playing with Bill, Sam, Joshua and I at the first gathering at our new location takes the cake for most insane show for me in 2017. It was an exorcism and a cosmic journey on many levels.

4.) Being given the opportunity to start my Interior Design career. Thank you Graeme for being generous and putting trust in me. Detroit feels like a second home to me.

5.) My spirit was eaten and spit back out many times in 2017, but I can clearly see the lessons. I've begun to fully understand compassion, patience, my boundaries, and letting go of things not meant for me. I have my health and my family, and each day is an opportunity for a new beginning.

Thankful to my relationships, experiences , and challenges in 2017 for cracking me wide open....

I appreciate those who've taken time to listen to the show, and those who've contributed and been part of it over the years.

Warmly,
Veronica
